Checking in from The Land of the AFK Blogger

Oh god, I found this thing again. Long story short, I don't have the patience to continuously update this thing. I, of course, am still constantly taking photos but going through the hoops of posting things that only I will view is rather stupid. If you've somehow found this page and want to see more recent photography ambitions, check out http://www.facebook.com/tlgphotos

I'd delete the blog itself, but it is still a strange journal of sorts and makes for a great time capsule every few months when I randomly stumble upon it.

Toodles!

A New Beginning

So I'm two months short of a year since the last post on here. Obviously I'm made to be a blogger! A lot has happened since last September. I survived the completion of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, suffered through the drama and emotions of betrayal from someone I considered a best friend and traveled all over the continent for job searching and to arrive at my new job.

Today I find myself in Kansas, attending Graduate school and working at Kansas State University. There are many new faces here from last time I was in the country of Oz, but there are also quite a few familiar faces and that's heartening. I'm excited by what the year will bring and what adventures all of us will share.

This blog post has a purpose though: New Beginnings. How often do we find ourselves given the opportunity to reshape our image, to portray ourselves anew with fresh eyes examining us and only the bias of stereotypes to glance our paths? Moving to Kansas has given me that opportunity and so far I've managed to muck it up somewhat. I've shown I lose important
things, like my room and mail keys, and that I'm treacherousness on the road at night. The latter incident occurred with two superiors in the vehicle so...yeah great that was a great first experience. But that's okay too, because these things show I'm human and that I make mistakes.

Along the lines of New Beginnings, this blog will be taking a different shape as well. It originally started as a way to show off my photography in Project365, where you post a dif
ferent image daily. I'll still be posting photos that I've taken with the blog but there will be more direction and more focus on the topics I broach. This will allow me to share my thoughts with the world while giving me an avenue upon which I can journal and reflect. Plus there's this concept called "personal branding" which apparently utilizing a blog properly is a good way to help accomplish a solid brand.

That said, I'm tired and it's late so I'll cut this post short with a photo from 4th of July. The day was spent socializing with the Sr. Staff where we were able to get to know one another better and prepare ourselves for the joint training adventure. Tomorrow we set out for an offsite team building experience and I'm excited by what the day will bring.

Cheers!

Trevor

The Return

Manhattan, Kansas lightning strike

Alright, so I took an extended leave of absence. Then I lost the password because I have too many slightly variant google accounts and passwords. I will be posting again, and updating with photos once more! For now though, enjoy a photo from my summer adventures.

Revisions, Changes, and Skipping around...

Hang in there as I test out new templates. The old one wasn't cutting it anymore, simply because I couldn't use picture of the size that I wanted! I'll be going though templates until I find one that I enjoy.

Since I seem to be having trouble catching up with my dates, I'm going to follow Mary's example and skip a month. The blog will continue on with 10-27-09. I'd say an additional month will be added to the whole thing, but I don't think I intended to stop after a year anyway.
